Ugra concentrates on certification. Therefore Ugra is not involved in consultation of printing companies. Ugra trains however consultants, who are introducing the standardized printing to printing and prepress companies.
The training for an Ugra Certified Expert (UCE) takes place in a three-day seminar. In this training three main topics are discussed. These are:
Basics
It concerns that an expert knows, why a printing company should produce according to standards and what the pro and cons are. Besides a method is given, how one can implement the standardized printing in a printing company.
Standards
The standards, which are important for the certification, are discussed in detail. These are
- ISO 15930 PDF/X
- ISO 15076 Color Management
- ISO 12646 Monitor
- ISO 12647-7 Digial Proof
- ISO 12647-2 Print
- ISO 3664 Standard Illumination
Certification
The expert learns, what the requirements for the audit are, how it is accomplished and how the evaluations take place.
UCE certificate
At the end of the training a written test is done. This test has to be passed in order to become the UCE certificate. THis certificate is vlid for two years. After this it can be prolonged in a two das re-certification training.
Costs
The UCE training costs € 1300.-.
