Characterization data are the measured values of printed test charts. The test chart used for these measurements is the ISO 12647-2 with 1617 measuring patches. The data published here were provided by Fogra based on prints according to ISO 12647-2.
These data represent also the basis for the nominal values, which are used in the Ugra/Fogra Media Wedge CMYK as control of the proofs.
These data serve for manufacturing own profiles, which e.g. contain different maximum tone value sums, as the standard profiles. In order to prevent confusions, such profiles should in no case be named ISO.
