• in business since 1952
• has internationally a good reputation as research institute and center of competence
• is internationally affiliated with other research institutes (iarigai, TAGA)
• represents Switzerland since 1989 in the ISO standardisations (ISO TC 130)
• cooperates in different technical commissions, in order to distribute the results of the international work in Switzerland (swiss4color, TK, VSLF, TK ZPK, TK PPS, meetings of heads of division of Viscom).
• developed and launched the first control tools and 
• continuous to offer unique control tools
• operates a laboratory according to ISO 17025, which is accredited by SAS, SECO (Federal Department of Economic Affairs FDEA)
• is the only accredited laboratory in Switzerland for independent analysis of paper, cardboard and printed products 
• issues independent and neutral claim analysis and expertises
• certifies printings companies, suppliers, individuals, printing workflows and substrates according to ProcessStandard Offset (PSO)
• trains individuals in topics, on which Ugra scientifically works for years
• employs 3 printing engineers, 1 laboratory expert and 2 administrators

Memberships support Ugra to fulfill its tasks

Ugra implements many projects, which are not economically aligned. For example the cooperation in the standardization committees and the distribution of the results in Switzerland cost money and do not bring any direct economic advantage to Ugra. The work is however important for the good of the Swiss graphic arts industry.

The member fees cover this work.

Memberships and Advantages

The four following memberships are possible with Ugra: The association membership, the corporate membership, the individual membership and the honorary membership.

A membership leads to the following advantages:

1. 20% discount on all Ugra products
2. direct access to Ugra research results
3. Cooperation in Ugra project groups
4. 20% discount on Ugra services
5. direct access to the standardization in the printing industry
6. 20% discount on Ugra trainings and events (mostly in German language)
7. co-determination in Ugra

Association Membership

With their membership associations support the research and standardization in the printing industry.

The member contribution depends on the number of members within the association. Depending upon the amount of the member contribution the association receives a certain number of voices for the general assembly and with this a direct right to vote in Ugra.

At the moment Ugra counts two association members.

Corporate Membership

Companies, which have interest in Ugra, can become a corporate member. Thus a company acquires itself the advantages listed above.

The member contribution is based on the number of employees of the company. The contribution gradation is as follows:

Individual Membership

Individuals, who would like to support Ugra, can become individual member.

The advantages are the same as for the other memberships.

An individual member pays an annual membership fee of CHF 200.–.

At the moment Ugra counts 4 individual members.

Honorary Membership

The general assembly of Ugra may elect honorary members.

At the moment Ugra counts 2 honorary members.
