Functional principle
The two green printed colours of the Ugra Light Indicator Card form a metameric colour pair (conditionally identical colours). Under the standard illuminant D50, the colour patches appear identical. Under any other illuminant, the colour patches appear different. This type of metamerism is called illumination metamerism. The cause is the different light spectrum of the respective illuminants. This way, you can easily recognise non-conforming lighting conditions and are not fooled during colour matching.

FAQ
If the green colour patches appear identical, the ambient light is suitable for critical colour assessment. However, if significant colour differences appear, then the light source is not compliant with D50 and not suitable for critical colour assessment.
The Ugra Light Indicator Card D50 is manufactured in Switzerland (printed in Switzerland).
The sturdy PVC card is 0.5 mm thick, has good flatness and guarantees long-lasting use. It is ideal for use in a sales talk or in the training area.
To ensure long-lasting use of the Ugra Light Indicator Card, the product must be stored away from dust, heat, moisture and direct sunlight. The service life may be shortened by the influence of temperature, humidity and exposure to light.
The Ugra testing laboratory STS 0455 has verified the light fastness for the Ugra Light Indicator Card D50 according to ISO 12040. Test samples of a production batch were artificially aged for 200 hours. Spectrophotometric measurements were carried out according to ISO 13655 and an average colour difference of 0.5 ΔE*ab between the colour patches was determined. The test results are documented under reference 14646. Based on the underlying test conditions, Ugra declares a light fastness of 2 years, if the product is handled properly at (23 ± 2) °C and (50 ± 5) % r.h. and stored in the original black envelope.
