Testing of the Swiss Vignette

On behalf of the Federal Customs Administration FCA, Ugra tests the quality of the Swiss vignette. This must meet high requirements.

The use of national roads (motorways and motorways) with motor vehicles and trailers in Switzerland is paid for with the vignette. The vignette is a security document. Anyone driving on a motorway or motorway without a vignette and is caught by the police will pay a fine of CHF 200. Only affixing the vignette to the inside of the windscreen counts as proof of payment.

Ugra checks the following criteria on the vignettes:
  • Light fastness and colour fastness
  • Adhesive force at 180° peel angle
  • Ageing resistance and environmental simulation
